The Courier Tribune is celebrating National Library Week, April 2-8, with a look at the Caldecott and Newbery medal winners in Monday's Mini Page. This year the National Library Week theme is "Change your World @ your Library".
Children's storytime has enjoyed Spring-themed stories and a book of "weather" poems by Aileen Fisher. Here's an excerpt:

I like it when it's blowy,
when clouds are swift and showy,
and waves of grass
run up the hill,
yet all the time
their feet stand still.

I wish I were a ladybug
on a windy day,
riding on a clover top,
swinging on a hay,
clinging to a daisy stalk
full of dip and sway...
up and down
and back & forth...on a windy day. Say!
