Students'Art Work from Ms. Cagle's classes at Hopewell Elementary School is on display in the Children's Area of the Archdale Library during the month of February. Braxton Craven Middle School's artwork from Ms. Loewen's students will arrive for March.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss will be celebrated on Thursday, March 2 from 7-8pm.
It will offer a fun evening storytime for the family with games, stories, craft and refreshments.
An afternoon craft-time for school-age children honoring the St. Patrick's Day holiday will be on Tuesday, March 14 from 3-4pm. Space is limited, registration is required. Refreshments, craft and stories will be offered--Don't forget to wear something green!

(Parents/guardians are reminded that children under 11 years must be with an adult.)

The American Library Association recently announced the 2006 Newbery and Caldecott Medals during its midwinter meeting. Check it out at Ala.org.

For all the Sendak fans (Where the Wild Things Are)...According to an article in USA Today Maurice Sendak is writing his first pop-up book "Mommy?" due in September from Scholastic with the help of author Arthur Yorinks and paper engineer Matthew Reinhart. It's the tale of a little boy who wanders into a monster house looking for his mother. Oooh, I can't wait!
